Down Trodden Souls of Saffron Wings

Ancient dwellings
Beyond boundary
Beyond restriction

Here I lie at peace with myself
Forever happy in my pace.
Content I am with my faith still
I know that all is never to be known.
Revealed at least by one hand alone.
Fey fair of combly hair bear flowers blue,
They parade by my bedside as rainbows
Encircle the moon. The void beckons
Towards a reckoning that all is fine,
The midnight sun is shining.
Liberty flies and we are free.

David Lacey

Hello Dear TL Friends,

I saw this sadhu on my way back home one evening.

Spiritual adventurers, ascetic warriors, devout mystics, occult rebels or philosophic monks,
the sadhus are revered by Hindus as representatives of the gods, sometimes even worshipped as gods themselves.
The colour saffron is deeply associated with spirituality in India. Saffron finds its place even in our national flag due to the deeply spiritual flavour India has. Sadhus are mostly seen sporting saffron coloured robes, turbans, waistbands and shawls etc. Wearing saffron for them is like making a statement to others, announcing to the carnal world that they have denounced it and all it's carnal desires. Saffron also represents their strong relationship with thei creator, "Bhakti" as it is known in India. These sadhus clothed in saffron hues wander all around the country surrendering themselves totally in the hands of their creator. They are not worried about what they will eat or what they will wear or where they will find shelter. Their God is their provider.
Hope you like it.

Saffron is the colour of our flag because of its richness and its history. as we know it was a common colour worm by our Rishi Munis in earlier period.

(Orange is the name of our royal family)
