This photograph is taken when I went to the Tohoku district in autumn two years ago. When going in the direction of Sendai by train from Tokyo, there are two kinds of routes, Tohoku Line and Jōban Line. At this time, I went to Sendai using the local train of Jōban Line. In the case of a local train, we have to change the train several times. Firstly, I went from Ueno Station to Tsuchiura Station, and then I got down from there and changed the train for Takahagi Station. After that, there is memory which went to Sendai through Hitachi, Iwaki, and Soma. This photograph is taken at the plathome of Takahagi Station of a stopover. There is memory by which I waited for the train about 20 minutes. On the way, the limited express passed the station. It is prohibitted smoking also at the local station in recent years so that it may understand also with the sign at a station. It was the cloudy weather on that day. The route of Jōban line which goes north from Iwaki to Sendai under the influence of the Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster now is under suspension.

Hi Mikio,
I like the atmosphere here, the fog showing this early morning ambient and the cloudy surroundings and the expectant mood of this lady waiting for the train! Nice light emitted from the rear wagon.
Anyhow a splendid shot telling a story.
My best regards,

Francis Xavier

Amazing light and mood you have caught in this shot, Kato-san!

The exposure is nice and the approaching local JR train and the waiting passenger make a nice story.
Good sharpness and well clarity with well kept contrasts in the scene.
Nice job!

Arigato Gozaimashita,

Hi Mikio.

I like the mood of this scene, the woman waiting and the angle used to show the whole platform and aproaching train. The light is so unusual that gives us this atmosphere felt. The portrait style framing works well too with this image. TFS

Konban wa, Mikio.

Good sharpness & excellent use of linear perspective. The haze adds mood, mystery & atmosphere. Good inclusion of the woman passenger to animate the shot, add scale & context. Nice use of diminishing linear perspective & vanishing point. Arigato!

Ciao Mikio, lovely composition with waiting woman, excellent perspective, great clarity, wonderful soft colors and fantastic light, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Love that composition. Too bad, that that red sign behind her head grasp that much attention. But we all live in a world polluted with all those signs. Maybe in fifty years time, those sign will appear totally from an other era, this is so beginning of the century don't you thing? Anyhow, a single item, can at time, kind of ruin the compo. Cloning it out, that would be retouching, can usefull, if you like your shot to say something. No big deal tho tried a workshop on it, to show an other point of view.

Getting back to the composition, I really like where the woman is position into the frame. It lead the eye toward the train and background, and the upward converging line, also help to that visuel effect.

The shot is too light to my taste. I know that it may be effective to set a certain mood, yet I rather darker tones, as a personnal preference off course.

Still visual side, a very attractive shot.

really love the misty feel,,is like a movies scene..

dear mikio,
very simple, dreamy atmosphere.
suitable composition.
thank you, my dear friend.

kind regards,
Mehran Jahangiri.
