It might do so, but imho it doesn't work everytime and with any subject, Jorge.
As for the portrait, I like your low PoV which works best with pets and children. Sharpness is spot on, and I like the contrast in colour tones on the dog's coat.
I think the backdrop on the right could do with some darkening, as it is a bit distractingly bright.
