It doesn't matter if you are shopping, doing the dishes, or hunting dinosaurs, when a four year old needs a story, you better stop and give her a story or there will be consequences.... B-)

This is my sister Nancy and Brooke, who is 4, can you believe it?? I have taken many shots of Brooke over the years, she is getting TOO big! Where they are sitting should be under water, but because of extreme drought in the area, the river has stopped running.

So we were walking along the north fork of the San Gabriel River, taking my son and his girlfriend to see the dinosaur tracks. I'll post a picture of them in WS.

I processed this in HDR, no EXIF will be on the photo, just posted here. Hope you have a great day!
Linda

Very interesting photo....B/W addes more to it

Ciao again Linda, lovely B&W composition with cute models, fantastic light in hairs of your sister, great perspective, very well done, ciao Silvio

Wonderful composition. I like the way the perspective fades into the background on the left. B&W works well here Linda. Those notes are very helpful to me. I'm still working on how to get the best DOF (I like a lot of focus) with the proper settings. As usual, you include an interesting story to your shots which adds another dimension to your images.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi Linda..this is a nice black and white shot...great details and tones..nice job.

Hi Linda,
Very good capture of this moment!
You managed so nicely the light in front of your camera! I like the halo around the hair of your sister and the textures on the bed of this river !
Looking at the photo in workshop, you have a beautiful son!
Bravo! Annie

This is like documenting our life!!!!
Well done Linda:) I'm sure that Brooke 20 years later will see this picture with some emotions:):):) - just great memories are our pictures.
Very nice landscape there and well composed by you.
Tom:)

Boa tarde Linda
The light is superb spcealy in your sister´s hair.
It´s so genuine and perfect. The note increase the importance of the moment.
I love it.
Um abraço
teresa

Hi Linda,
Interesting photo ,i appreciate your low angle of shoot here, almost eye level , you placed Nancy and Brooke perfectly in your frame with the very idea in mind of passing the message along to the viewer into attesting of the evident dryness of the river seen without a drop of water in it , its former course well defined by the low-sided edges stretching away in the distance . I like the b&w treatment too , sharp and a fine composition indeed,
tfs,
Carol

What a sweet and tender shot, Linda.
Beautifully composed - I like the way the river bed leads in and your sister and the baby are perfectly placed to keep the attention. Wonderful light and shadow work, great tones and I love the way they are both engrossed by her story. Such a pretty shot! Many thanks and warmest regards,
Shelly

Hi Calamity,
A story in a picture! Great shot, well composed and the choice for B&W is superb. Excellent contrast and brightness. Like the glance of your sister (twins?) at her son, it shows great love for him. Superb posting my dear cowgirl.
Hans

Hi Linda,
Fantastic light (the effect on the hair is wonderful) and a great composition with the rock where your sister and Brooke are sitten leading our look to the horizon, very sharp and with a great elegant curve. Great mood.
Best regards, mb

Yep! Kids should come first - and especially when you're in the middle of a dried up riverbed with ancient dinosaur prints all around you.

Nicely captured Linda - it is lovely to see their interaction - it looks like Brooke is reading to Nancy!!
