I am suffering from a lack of fog so another step back into Winter. The scene once again the Tamar Estuary at Home Point, Launceston, Tasmania. There has been an influx of old wooden boats in the yacht basin and at the various slipways recently. Boats of all vintages and sizes are undergoing painting and general repairs. I wondered why and then remembered that the Tasmanian Wooden Boat Festival will be staged in Hobart in January 2007. Details reagrding this event can be found at http://www.australianwoodenboatfestival.com.au/html/about.html

Launceston itself staged a very minor event of the same nature earlier this year.

Amazing and beautiful image

I have figured it out now. I absolutely got stuck at the impressionists where art is concerned. Nothing that came afterwards could measure up. This is why I adore these photos of your's so much. There is a distinct impressionistic feeling. The colours and reflections are just "WOW". One day when I'm grown up I want to make pics like these.

Hello David,
no horizon at all, the boats seem to hover somewhere in space. Even the reflections seem partly to be swallowed by the fog.

Hello David, Absolutely stunning. I am including in my fav.

I have not been very active on TL in the past months but I did take some time to look at your shots as soon as I could. You are truly inspiring. I just hope I would have access to beautiful sceneries as you have. I also look at your wisdom quote you include with your posts. Please keep it up and keep shooting.

Hi David

This is simply brilliant! Love everything about this shot. Congrats! :-)

Hi David. A remarkable water scene. It is exquisite with the fog making the line beween water and air invisible. It is excellent, like a dream. TFS. Murray.

PS It would make a fine painting also.

Very beautiful soft fogy effect. Nice smooth colours. Cool and beautiful landscape.
