...for the name of this tree!

I was walking in Leiria, last week, and noticed that under this tree, the grass was loaded with white flowers. As I bent down to take a closer look I realized that the flowers had fallen from the tree.

The sky was quite dark that morning which resulted in a not so good result for this photo. I went back yesterday as the sun was shining but there were no more flowers!

As for the name of the tree, such as the title reveals and which was a mystery to me until I saw that Pierre (pierrefrigon) posted the same flower today, I now know that it's a CATALPA.

PHOTOFILTRE was used for the collage of these three photos. Each photo was submited to: Auto contrast-Colors revived-gamma correct-sharpening-framed

Catalpa, a favourite tree in the Netherlands because of its big green leaves. Never seen those flowers in them however.
