:-) .. with one of the 'toys' ..
actually I was just having a play with the equipment here. I wanted to replace the image on the intro page so I just sort of played around with a few exposures.

I later thought I should post this one and get some feedback on it.
This was shot with the F828, set up on my other tripod and aimed at the white bedroom wall..
I did not want the flash.. so I went for ISO of 400 - which means a fair bit of noise with the F828.
So I ran it through NeatImage to clean it up a bit.

Looking at it, I thought my left hand (on the right in your view) was placed in a funny way - but I had it on the tripod bracket.

Anyway I would be grateful to have your feedback on it.
Thanks for looking :-)

In WS is slightly de-saturated original (colour) version

WOW good capture, amazing black and white composition
really good portrait of your camera.... just joking.... really good portrait of yourself too
you look very professional *_*
well done

Hi Daniel,
You got guts to move infront of the camera. The idea and the photo is something I actually am thinking of as well. My only issue is that I have only one camera. :)
Always nice to see the face behind the great nocturnal photos.
I might have moved a little more to the left so that your entire face is next to the camera.
TFS,
Niek

Hello Daniel

Superb capture here, far be it for me to criticise your unique ability but I do feel just from a personal POV that I prefer the WS. I am not that good at explaining things but I will have a go. This image I feel is a touch too harsh. The slightly saturated one is a touch softer while retaining the clarity I like the gentle colour tone changes in it.

Hope that made sense and did not cause any offence.

TFS kind regards Helen

Hi
Very good. The wonderful composition and the sharpness.
Anna

Woaw ! What a beautiful self-portrait of a photographer, Daniel !
Love your expression and your attitude !
Great tones too and good choice of white background.
Sylvie

Hello Daniel :o)
Excellent portrait ! So sharp, nice expression and eyes :o) I would like to have a toy like yours ;o)
Excellent choice for white background, it improves the quality of your shot, bravo !
Greetings

I really like this. You look a bit mysterious hiding behind that camera but also very approachable because of the gentle hint of a smile.
I think this works very well indeed

Hello Daniel,

This is a beautiful self portrait my friend. Excellent presentation in monochrome with light sepia and brilliant white background. Right suitable for the intro picture. Well done.

Many thanks for sharing this image.

Well well well, who have we got here...

The one and only, the Treklenser himself :)

Nice self portrait.
Choice of colour tone is not bad.
But maybe I would try with B&W version, as well and sepia with black thick frame, well have a look at my WSs.

Good and clean background - it brings purity to your photo.

Interesting colour tone in WS.

Well done.
Off to my "special" theme of course.

It'd appear that you caught yourself "in action", David ;o). I like the monochrome image as well as the colour version. Nice to see you like this.
I think that your hands, as they are closer to the camera, are depicted a bit out of proportion though, they seem more important (in the sense of larger, mostly) than your face.
Anyway, TFS

Hi Daniel,
Technically...I have no knowledge therefore incapable of giving you suggestions.
I do like the way you present your self portrait with an empty BG which leaves no distractions whatsoever. I like the smooth texture and colors and the way you are looking straight into the viewer's eyes!
Nice to meet you and TFS.
Regards,
Lurdes

Hi Daniel, I actually prefer your desaturated version, your skin colour comes up so much better. Nicely composed and good detail. TFS,

Hi Daniël,
I have looked and looked again to see why I prefer this one.
The black frames are closing you in - so they our out.
This one makes a strong portrait and has a very appealing colour. But I just read other replies and this only comes down to personel preferences - Conclusion:
Great picture.

Hi Daniel...;)))

Hello Daniel !

Pretty handsome man !!! and portrait . Technically , I do prefer the WS. You are just border line, here , your right eye is almost masked by the camera, a bit higher position might have been better, IMHO.
But overall , I like it very much!
Nice to see you !
Cheers!

Hi Daniel, I think it is a great self-portret! Only your hands... are they really THAT big? They are on the front of the photo, so maybe gif your hands a different place.
I love the colour and the way you look to the camera. great sharpness!

Well done!

Hi Daniel - An attractive photographer making attractive photos with an attractive gear. (What else do you want? - lol) I like your pose, including the left hand at the very front.
