Hi Silke,
I think I've never seen the famous falls from this POV. It gives a whole new view to the falls. It is a very personal thing when it comes to likes and dislikes in a photo. I think that you might not be that comfortable with sime of the buildings in this photo. (e.g. those in the FG and the one in the back) Or, it has to do with the slightly dark trees in the FG. Both are not really a concern to me. The buildings are not dominant in the composition and the darker tree to help to channel the eyes to the brighter falls.
What I find really wonderful about this photo is your timing. The foot of the rainbow is actually touching the Maid in the Mist.

Hi Silke,

I think the timing is what makes this shot so great. Waiting until the boat entered the rainbow was a great idea. I'm not sure what you're uncomfortable with, but if I had to guess it would be the buildings to the left. I don't think it would hurt to crop closer to the boat and eliminate them.

i am not too sure what bugs you with this, i love the last light on the foreground trees, perfect timing, good pov, nice details,colors, so what the problem with this one? the mist causes a blur but that natural, hhmmmm...you got me!

composition is really good.. i could say.. a classic.. and it's effective a lot!

A spectacular view of these iconic waterfalls with good sharpness, colour, & framing. Superb saturation & high pov. The boat & crowd of tiny tiny people at left of the river, add scale. Good to see you posting again, albeit temporarily.

Hi Silke, I must say there is no place like Niagra Falls. One has to see it to believe it! How lucky for you to have timed your photo just as the Maid of the Mist was passing under the rainbow. Such a neat effect! I'm glad that you added a little saturation to the sky. I honestly can't think of a single thing I can add to improve the shot! Kudos to you! :) Lisa

It seems like the rainbow nd the boat are meeting at one point,better timing is not possible.

There is always a rainbow there, isn't there? My daughter and son in law went to Niagara Falls for their honeymoon in May, but this is a different view than their photos showed. Beautiful capture.
