I've never been to a professional boxing match before, but we went with a friend who treated us to ringside seats . . . OK, folks, first a disclaimer, if I may. Just in case I am offending anyone with strong feelings against this kind of "sport" by posting these shots of a professional boxing match, I apologize to you. I am not intending to promote the sport; I would not on a normal basis seek this form of entertainment. I am not intending to exploit anyone. These men, for whatever reason--money, power, or glory--step into the ring willingly. I will not post pictures of the faces of their wives or girlfriends as they watch their men taking punches. There was also an amateur event that night, with young olympic hopefuls trying to score points toward their olympic trials. They fought with protective headgear and still walked away bloody. You won't see those shots from me. Nor will you see shots from the two fights that were stopped to save the life of the losing boxer. (By the way, when that happened, the crowd was yelling, "Save him!"--I am happy to report.)
