These are the remaining chimneys of an old brick factory, founded in 1882, the same year the city was founded, by a czech inmigrant named Francisco Ctibor to provide for the construction of the main public buildings and infrastructure. He came from Paris where he worked with Gustave Eiffel and he stayed here after winning the contract for building the sewer system of the city, then he bought the factory and transformed it into a modern facility by those times stantards by incorporating german machinery.
The old factory functioned until 1995 when it moved to modern facilities.
The site of the old factory has since then been rented to walmart, but they kept a few parts of the site where these chimneys remain because they are considered of historical interest.
